Description:Single, flat fragment of manganese crust (13 x12 x 5.5 cm), rounded with no fresh surfaces apparent, fresh surfaces is fine grained; black outer surface is very rough; friable with some brow staining. Note: further survey of the dredged area showed it to be shaped like a seamount rather than a linear ridge. It is located along the Kyush-Palau Ridge. Were not able to find steep flank that we had hoped to hit with the dredge.
