| Description: | Located approx on anomaly 2 (ie 2 my. old) on a ridge. ~ 600 kg recovered - full dredge. The majority of rocks (50-60%) are massive submarine flow fragments (cobble to boulder) with thick (.5 - 2 cm) glassy rinds. They are plagioclase and olivine phyric with < 5% vesicles and < 10% alteration or replacement. Thin manganese coatings are present. The remainder of the igneous rocks are fine-grained flows or pillows that are slightly crystalline (~5%), fresh and may contain cpx as well as ol + pl. Proportions of various basalts: ol (2-5%) - pl (1-2%), 25% of total sampled; pl (5%) - ol (1-2%), 40%; plag (~5%) +- cpx, 25%; aphyric 5% and cpx-ol, < 5%. Sedimentary rocks: intensively bored siltstones, Mn coated containing sandy fragments of plag, glass and ol. Volcaniclastic breccia with altered basalt, plag + ol. Bags - ? at least 4 to HIG and Sol.
