Dredge bag dragged up northeast side of seamount from 1835 m water depth to 1700 m. Reflection records reveal reef complex capped by pelagic sediments atop seamount. No volcanics, Mn- encrusted limestone made up entire dredge. Cretaceous reef complex - indicated by presence of rudist. fragments. Benthonic forams, other mollusks, coral fragments also contained within rocks. Also present in dredge were a few samples of pelagic limestone, age unknown. |
