Group 2: vesicular, glassy lavas - no apparent phenocrysts but maybe plagioclase; vesicles ~0.2 cm average diameter; nice shiny, black glass. Group 3: Sheet flow lavas - intermediate vesicularity between groups 1 and 2; tend to be more elongate than group 2 and more variable sizes; glassy, striated surfaces; flow structures. 4 pails. |
