| Description: | Ol-basalts and pl-basalts and 10 lbs. of the same in pebble dredge. Sizes range from (40x20x20 cm) to (7.5x5x4 cm) with assorted smaller rocks in pebble dredge. Most samples have a very thin Mn-coating and many show evidence of baked carbonate. All rocks have been cut and sampled for geochemical analysis and thin section (size permitting). - Two 1/2" diameter cores taken from each of seven of the above samples. Those samples which were drilled are P1,P2,P22,P27,P29,P30,P31. These cores are being used for sound velocity studies. |
