| Description: | Pebble dredge lost. Crown dredge contained fragments of angular to well rounded and range from granules to cobbles greater than 10 cm in diameter. Olive basalt, between medium light gray (N6) and light olive gray (5Y6/1) on a broken surface, predominantes. It contains phenocrysts of olivine and plagioclae in an aphanitic groundmass. Grayish black (N2) manganese is common as a coating on other rock fragments and as irregular masses. Olive gray (5Y4/1) angular, flatish fragments of shale, up to 6 cm across, are rare. Grayish yellow (5Y8/4) fragments up to 5 cm in diameter are also rare. They consist of aggregates of finer grain fragments poorly bonded together and apparently represent altered ash.
